Today we have:

Nadal-Kyrgios
Monfils-Thiem
Wawrinka-Medvedev
Rublev-Zverev

4 very good matches on paper, all of which could go 5 sets, and every player is either a slam holder or possibly will be a slam holder in the future (save for maybe Monfils at worst)

Not sure if I have ever seen such a lineup and only in the R16 level. Maybe QF in the past have featured such a lineup, but for a 4th round, this is as good as it gets, a Manic Monday at Wimbledon feel almost

Anyone else remember a 4th round of such potential quality?

Fingers crossed that Kyrgios has a meltdown and gets defaulted from his match for charity

I just hope Monfils gives it a game, even in a very likely losing effort.
With Elina already done. Dude may not care about AO anymore.
That's what could prevent this from being a blockbuster lineup.

Yes, I agree it's a quite nice set-up. But we surely had similar pairings before. Look for example at R16 of USO 2009:
Federer-Robredo
Söderling-Davydenko
Djokovic-Stepanek
Verdasco-Isner

Tsonga-Gonzalez
Monfils-Nadal
del Potro-Ferrero
Cilic-Murray

I mean, if you look at the upper half, you would not expect that the lower one was even stronger ;-)

Matches were going to start way late here, so won't have able to catch any of them
