Both players looked tired and Benneteau had to take a medical time out. But Kei got the win :)

Kudos to both players.

Kei's stronger physically and mentally now with more experience behind him, but it was another shaky roller coaster ride.
Kei got early breaks in the first 2 sets but couldn't hold in the later stages, he was well behind on the 3rd but manage to level at 5 all then eventually winning another tb.

He's beaten Tsonga before but Tsonga only droped 6 games in his last match! All the best Kei, and go job on reaching the fourth round.

Congrats, Kei!! :cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader:
Can't wait to see the match at home later. :)

This is the first time in 80 years that a Japanese male reached R4 at AO (Jiro Sato was a semifinalist in AO 1932).

Good luck against Tsonga! :rocker:

Putting Japanese Tennis on the map this man.

Tsonga might prove too strong right now and overwhelm him, but give it ya best Kei.

I love Benneteau, but I also am a big Killer Kei fan, so watching them both struggle with fatigue was tough. I hope Kei can repeat and take out Tsonga :D
