By my calculations Nishikori could have max. 5185 points at the end of the week while Stan currently has 5165 points. One more win for Stan and I think he could secure #4 ranking before AO.

My bad. It does seem possible if Nishikori could get over his round last year (very possible) and Stan doesn't defend (sadly, very possible too), while Nadal seem unlikely to defend his Finals points too (but then again he's Nadal...). From the Top 10 it seems Cilic could've gotten the most gain in AO but he withdrew so each of the Top 10ers I think have to go at least to a QF to even gain points (Nishikori and Raonic losing in the R16 means they could gain the most points I think among those in the Top 10 who would participate this year).
