Spanish media has reported that Nicolas Almagro will undergo surgery on his left foot next Monday which will lead to him missing the rest of the season. Spanish sports newspaper Marca reports that the operation aims to avoid fasciitis in his left foot. Fasciitis is the information of the fascia of a muscle or organ. Furthermore Argentinian newspaper Télam reported that Almagro did undergo intense rehabilitation on his foot however it wasn't enough which has now lead to the operation.

Almagro has been hammered with injuries during the season. He was forced out of the Australian Open with a shoulder issue. Then the French Open as well as Wimbledon due to his foot. There is yet to be any official comment on the situation by Almagro.

That's how much beating Nadal takes out of you. We saw it with Soderling, now we're seeing it with Almagro. At least it happened at the peak of his career.

Doesn't get any better than beating Nadal in Barcelona. He can spend the next 6 months happily. Shit, he could probably retire happily.

I hope he takes the surgery, cause many players have tried to avoid it but ended up doing it anyway.
