The last time I checked Nalbandian's legs hadn't given out. Safin's pretty much have.
Nalbandian is roughly at the stage Safin was at in 2004-05, when he also had his indoor breakout.

I just wanted to add how nonsensical I think this thread is.
Basically the poster is implying that Safin has a hope of playing at an elite level again because Nalbandian: a) also has a left-handed backhanded, b) is superficially similar in terms of having great talent, but much inconsistency, c) is not Nadal or Federer.
This is so stupid, it deserves the "stupid" prize for the utmost stupid.
