Dutch article, no time to translate.

I'd be pissed if he did this again. How is he supposed to get back to the top if he doesn't play tournaments? You're rusty, now you need to start playing the rust away, not go into hiding again and let it build up. Show up, you'll probably lose, but at least you tried.

And who knows, with guys like Wawa and Cilic winning slams these days, anything can happen

It would be very pathetic if he wouldn't play Australia just because he isn't in good form. He is fine now, capable of playing the AO and that's what he should do. It would be a coward thing if he withdraws just because is not getting the results he wanted at the start of this season.

He did the same at AO 2013, he was fit to play, but didn't play because he wasn't in his best form.

I know, i wasnt serious, journalism today is just copy pasting stories from another news portals all over the world, but the point stands, the story is nonsense, no matter what Nadal said, he's gonna play, no need to discuss it.
Really? Have you been on planet earth for the past 3 years? Shall we get our calculators out and figure out the amount of Grandslams Rafael Nadal has pulled out from? Shall we do that?

Well, it's strange, since yesterday he looked poised to compete in the AO during the post match interview.

Maybe he changed his mind after talking with El Tio.

Translation of the article:
Nadal doubts playing in the Australian Open
Rafael Nadal doubts playing the Australian Open after his bad start to the season. The Spaniard lost his first match back in Doha after his appendixitis to qualifier Michael Berrer.

"I would love to play the Australian Open, but I'm not sure I'll make that. I will work very hard to make sure that I do." said Nadal after the match.

"It's a long season. With a comeback after an injury it's normal that the results aren't that great at first. I have to look beyond that now and look forward a little. I have to train well now and try to be ready for Australia. It could happen that I go there and lose. Maybe I will win a few matches, I don't know."

Final
The 28-year old Nadal has suffered knee and wrist-injuries over the last few years. "This is the third comeback in my career. We'll see how it goes in a few months, I wanted to get off to a good start, but that didn't happen. Too many small things didn't go well."

Nadal lost the final of the Australian Open of last year to Statislas Wawrinka. The nine-time winner of Roland Garros won once in Melbourne, in 2009.

Novak Djokovic also had some trouble at the start of this season. The Serb was troubled by a cold before his first match in Doha, which he did win to his countryman Dusan Lajovic.

"I didn't know if I could play the last few days, but given these circumstances it was a very good start for me." Djokovic said.
