If he fails to reach the Rome final... :scared: That ranking will begin its descent into darkness.

RG is where the big drop would be. He'll probably be out of the Top 10 if he doesn't make the final there.

The only reason is losing those points in 2014 from August...due to his injuries.

and if he doesn't win Rome, if im not mistaken will be the first time since 2005 that nadal doesn't win a clay tournament in the european clay season before the french open

Well, considering 2014 was the first tince since 2004 that Nadal didn't win at least two.....

at least he has a title in the south american tour.

Better than nothing. He really ought to take Vilas' record for most clay titles. It's no longer possible to do so this year, unless he changes his normal schedule and plays clay events after Wimbledon.

He has always won at least two titles out of 3 clay masters + RG, though.

There is still a good chance to do it for the 11th consecutive time, with rigged draw for RG as for Madrid and Rome, keeping Djokovic, Murray, Nishikori and other threats in the other half, but I don't think Nadal will try his 99% in Rome F also, but in second week RG only.
