winning 5-setter in the previous match.

Djokovic did beat Nadal at USO-11 and AO-12 after winning 5-setters vs Fed and Murray respectively. Novak also took out Fed in RG-12 semi-final after surviving 5-set battle against Tsonga and Murray in AO-15 final after bageling Stan in 5th set of semi-final.

Fedalray have never done that to Nole which is another proof that Novak Djokovic is the biggest fighter around.

He is a great fighter. But he needs at least 14 slams to compare to the big three. All the fighting in the world won't put him up there until he gets to 14.

In all the 17 slams Federer won he combined played eight 5-setters, two of which were in finals (obviously with no match afterwards). I'm sure he's kicking himself now for not taking the opportunity to play more of them.

I think this is going to finally seal the GOAT debate once for all.

Thanks a lot.

No, Djokovic missed his chance to be GOAT when he dropped a set to Ivan Dodig of all people in the 2011 AO. Unlike Borg, Fed, and Nadal, he could not manage to win a slam without dropping a set.

to be fair part of the reason for this is that only recently (relatively speaking) did Djokovic start to make every late round of a slam (post 2011). it's been like 5 years now, but earlier in his career (pre 2011) probably was a time in which he would have lost to a Nadal or Federer even after they had a long match but more often than not Novak did not make it to that stage

it's impressive of a stat, yes, but obviously Nadal and Federer have not been as hot physically the past few years as they were in their prime. just something to take as a note

also it's an awkward stat because there haven't been THAT many examples / opportunties in which the other top players HAVE been brought to 5 in events and then played against Novak. generally the tour isn't competitive enough to bring a Federer or Nadal (who are in good form) to 5 sets, so.

Weak era like the one when King of Asia got two times spanked by a 33 years old guy?

That's why I call Djokovic vs Nishikori the biggest fraud in history of tennis.

Nishikori played 2 epics before clashing with Djokovic. Absolute disgrace behind the scenes.
