Finally got my Wimby final tickets through today. Needless to say I'm fucking buzzing

The plan is I'm arriving in London on Sat morning and planning a meet up with a few mtfers on Sat night and on Sunday for the final itself. If anyone is interested in a meet up at the grounds let me know or someone that's also going from here, we'll have more info on the numbers near the time but already around half a dozen are either coming or have expressed interest, so if you're interested then awesome

Now I need some advice on what to do here?

So like I said I'm arriving in London on sat morning, bus should arrive at around 9-10am and what I was wondering is if I showed up to Wimbledon (will prob be around midday after I drop my shit off at hotel) what are my chances of getting a ground pass for womens final. Is it worth bothering even trying or would I have a good chance?

Cheers

You never know - it might be worth a punt, depending on who's in the final. I've never tried getting a ground pass for finals days, though. I think the match is shown on a big screen in one of the other courts, isn't it?

I watched men's SF and F on the big screen on Henman Hill. Think I joined the queue somewhere between 11am and midday, and got tickets no bother. This was 2007, so peak Fedal era, too. Would think that the women's final would draw less of a crowd, so getting there around noon should be fine, I reckon. It was a long time ago, though, and I'm not sure how much more popular ground admission has become on finals day. Can't remember if they sell returns for finals, but that might be an option, too.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing that I should be ok to get in, even if it's likely around midday when I arrive. Also Won't be any local players in the final either since I don't think we even have anyone in the top 100 lol
I am going to the mens final. With someone from work though so not sure I can meet a bunch of people off the internet!

You don't think Heather Watson is making the final?

women's final should be fine. also note they have changed security team last year and they are so much stricter than before in terms of crowd control. it's their call to have how many people on the grounds.

Also good luck with morning London traffic you may end up arriving a couple hours later than expected.

You gonna have the best experience of your life. I was crying at the center court. It’s a magical place. Enjoy!

Nah. Earlier when I lived in London. 😃
You are so lucky, I was there in 2012 for the few first days.
Poor student life.

I think a lot of things changed around 2009, though. Putting the final on screen on a spare court may be an option if the Hill is too crowded, I guess.

Not sure why there shouldn't be any ticket resale for whatever doubles match(es?) it is after the singles - quite a few people might leave after the singles final. I know it happens for the men's.

Why not?

Don't mind me, I was being a dolt -- talking about tickets for finals when those are the tickets they already have. Got caught up in the ground admission business.

Hmm, what were the other changes? I've been post-2009 too, but I've not attended regularly enough overall to know what the deal is these days compared to before.
Never been to Wimbledon but went to London in 2002 for a week

Nice little rainy place. Much less stabbings back then

Hope you have a great time!
Because it's HEATHER WATSON
Enjoy yourself. Wimbledon is a brilliant place to go. I've only been on the first few days of the tournament and had got ballot tickets so never had to queue. Try your luck!

A few tips. Bring your own drinks, they can be quite expensive on site. Know where the toilets are, you will have to queue here. (LOL!) Bring a towel or wipes, you will probably need them.

Shame I can't make it this year, will be watching on TV as much as possible.
@cmchelsea would come up to meet you if not focking brexit mate
