|||Important info!!! At the end of 2015, I updated my WordPress and all the stats-pictures disappeared from their previous location :( In order to look at them you have to click on "x" there where is written "Full size x pixels" - it is placed below the name of the picture. Pictures that have been adding since the beginning of 2016, correctly appear on my website. |||

Here are the links to pictorial-stats that I've been including to my website since December 2013. When I created the thread there was just 10, but I've got a lot of matches done in a style you can check in the attachment (going back to the 70s), so it's been only a matter of counting particular shots to prepare another pictures. I'd love to add to this thread (in 2014) all matches I've done, doing it gradually, but I'm not sure how many matches will be added because counting this way it's a pain in the ass, especially counting errors; so I usually cut it only to the winners as far as matches prior to the year 2013 are concerned. I want to display mainly quarter- semi- & finals of big events, but my intention is also to present as many good Open Era players as possible!

A few words about my outlook on tennis stats:
- I divide all points into winners & errors. I completely reject the so-called "unforced errors". It's something invented at the beginning of the 80s, broadly adopted in the late 80s as well as apologizing for the net-cords (which I reject too, so obviously all points won thanks to the net-cords I count as winners)
- as aces I count also services touched with the frame of the racquet by the receiver if the ball after the touch landed behind him
- as "service winners" I count all unreturned serves; from my point of view it's pointless to wonder whether he could keep the ball in play or not
- as all other winners I count the so-called "clean winners" - when the player who lost the point didn't touch the ball at all, and all those shots when the player who lost the point hit somehow the ball, but in my opinion his chances to get the ball back into the play were pretty hopeless; there are very few moments when I'm not sure whether the points should be considered by me as winners or errors
- I count lobs and dropshots as specific winners because those shots are produced with a different technique comparing to return/passing-shot winners; when I make scorecards I know when it was a return or passing-shot winner, but don't include that to the pictures, I don't include lob and dropshot mistakes to "errors" too - I just count them as forehand/backhand errors
- it annoys me that official stats don't mention in how many games break points were wasted/saved thus I do it (parenthesis). Look at Roland Garros '12 final for instance - Nadal 9/17 at break points converted - it's very good ratio because occurred in 9 games, it'd be bad if happened in - let's say - 15
- half-volley winners are counted as volleys
- I count as overheads points played over the level of the head if the player was in retreating position (if the position was more comfortable I tend to count it as volleys, I'd describe those type of shots as high-volleys) or when the ball was hit crisply, and you'd call it "smash"
- some pictorial-stats vary a bit from the general trend

When I launched the thread eleven months ago, there were only 10 pic-stats, today - 380 :) I've managed to add in 2014 everything what I wanted, plus many more. It's time to slow down, nevertheless the thread should be still updating.
