Ok i recently posted this in another thread:
"I dont know if anyone feels the same, but you have to question whether murray really is a claycourt player like he makes out. His results have been crap on clay, and the only evidence we have of him being any good on the surface is his wannabe talk. He always talks himself up on clay, and then has bad results!

I have had a closer look at his results on clay:

Now compared to his results on hardcourt/grass (His record on clay is quite inferior). I dont think he even made the rolandgarros junior final did he? And Of course have to add his loss today.

He is young give him time. Look how long it took Roger to become great on clay although Roger was great on clay as a junior.

wel judeing on todays performance then no, but why would he say his best surface is clay if it isnt? maybe after a few years on tour his results on clay will be better than his results on other surfaces

He's a teenager. His hormones confuse him. He loves to be spanked on clay  :smash:

Yeah but i dont think roger was constantly talking himself up as a claycourt player. Its only because of what murray has said that it made me wonder how good he really is on the surface.

Maybe he is just a wannabe  But i do find it hard to believe that it could be his best surface. But i am also confused on why he would say it :p

Good drop shots but footwork is crap for clay, and not so much topspin from what I saw live today... Stan is better !

Thats what i thought, he says his best surface is clay (as in ability wise). But I guess maybe his favourite surface is clay (and because of that, he thinks its his best surface  )

yeah hes a bit lazy on the footwork. he has sum good drop shots but how many do you need to play in a match? he seemed to be hititng one evry second ball and they were getting way to predictable. he wasnt winning the majority of the points when he drop shotted so it was a bit of a bad tactic. his shot selection was poor as well today, but you can tell he has alot to improve on which is a good sign really, if he works hard, he can go far.

He constructs the points well! He plays great from what I see! This means nothing, he improved more than 200%:ras: He can play with topspin too, but he doesn't like. He showed some good shot-making today:D Hopefully he continues like this, then it's not much time to go till he's on top of the game:woohoo:

HE GOT THE 3RD WC INTO BANGKOK:woohoo::yeah:

Well I would say no.. And joeb_uk, Murray made it to the SF of the FO Junior this year ;) to answer your question in your first post. Atm I am wondering how he could do this coz today he reaaaaaally played poorly (sorry to his fans)... Dropshots, sometimes strong serve... what else? Nearly nothing... At least to little to win at least a set... And man this boy has NO physical condition... After 2 sets he was already stretching his legs (or his back)...

I agree, his game is a lot more suited to hard courts and probably grass courts too. Today was the 1st time I'd seen him play an ATP match on clay (his only previous one was against Hernych) and I didn't think he played too badly, but he doesn't have the patience, or the physical ability to continously get balls back like a Nadal or Coria. He knows his game better than anyone though, and he's got his head in the right place so if he thinks his game is best on clay then I'll go along with it, but he'll need to put in some big performances to match his efforts on the other surfaces.

Not right.

He made some exellent shot-making.
And has lots of power in his groundstrokes...
I think he played a good match today, Wawrinka just made the important points.
I didn't notice that he stretch after 2 sets:lol: impossible, he can go over 3.30 without cramping.

Right, I completely agree. "SOME" not enough though...

Quite right coz he hits the ball quick after the rebound some times...

Don't agree here... Wawrinka made the important points yes, but Murray didn't play as he used to play on grass for example... What Andy only did today: DROPSHOTS! And sometimes serving well but that's nearly all...

I was there in the stands and saw this with my own eyes, maybe at that right moment the tv camera wasn't showing him

Might be, but this has nothing to do with his fitness.

Buddy, don't forget, Grass isn't Clay, At one point you have to agree, his returns were:worship: This could bring Federer some Problems:devil: I don't think that he'll beat him, but it won't be a bagel show:woohoo:
I think at the begin of the 3rd he out-played Wawrinka, it was great, the power of his FH, I can't imagine ppl said before that he has no power:haha:

yeah, the 137 mph serves are just a fluke:shrug:
