What does Murray expect from her? her net play?
He only needs to stay far back to push on grass and doesnt need the net

I mean, if clueless jerks like Tio Toni could make a player like Nadal I don't see why a GS champ wouldn't be a good thing for Murray.

I'm fairly certain Judy is 100% responsible for this appointment and talked him into it so he can become a 'role model'.

Having coach(trainer) is better then having none.
Why? - Pointers below.
1. Objectivity - Easier to spot your mistakes from the public angle , then you would even be able. In the heat of the match , only thing you can think of is playing harder, not better.
2. Psychological effect - Bringing much thought to your plays and accord to your personality is often the key to channel your inner straight into things you excel (talented of) . Also bringing comfort.
3.Learning - New stuff.

Etc etc etc.
