Finally Bellucci will be in a main draw, I hope he takes advantage of this draw full of clowns and injured players (not that Bellucci isn't a clown too ).

He will face Ivan Dodig in the Round 1.

Btw, strange draw placement. He was placed in the spot on Vesely, who withdrew. Should be a LL, no? But the LL (Berrer) entered in the spot of one of the qualifiers and will face Seppi.

If the qualifying tournament has not yet ended when a retirement takes place, all the spots in the main draw are treated equally for lucky losers and qualifiers. There is no such thing as a lucky loser spot before qualies have ended.

If the qualifying tournament has ended when a retirement takes place, all the qualifiers are already positioned in the draw, so, the newly opened spot is a lucky loser position.

OK, that was clearly the case.

But what the spot in the draw (Berrer) is saying LL then? (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Share/Event-Draws.aspx?Year=2014&EventId=308&Draw=ms)

OK, let me be more clear. Before the qualies were played the draw looked like this:

...
7 Vesely, Jiri
8 (8) Dodig, Ivan
9 (4) Monfils, Gael
10 Bye
11 WC Zverev, Alexander
12 Melzer, Jurgen
13 Stakhovsky, Sergiy
14 WC Gojowczyk, Peter
15 Qualifier
16(6) Lopez, Feliciano
17(5) Kohlschreiber, Philipp
18 Istomin, Denis
19 Przysiezny, Michal
20 Matosevic, Marinko
21 Sela, Dudi
22 Qualifier
23 Bye
24(3) Youzhny, Mikhail
25(7) Seppi, Andreas
26 Qualifier
27 Qualifier
....

Now, when Jiri retired, the draw started to look like this:

...
7 Qualifier / Lucky Loser
8 (8) Dodig, Ivan
9 (4) Monfils, Gael
10 Bye
11 WC Zverev, Alexander
12 Melzer, Jurgen
13 Stakhovsky, Sergiy
14 WC Gojowczyk, Peter
15 Qualifier / Lucky Loser
16(6) Lopez, Feliciano
17(5) Kohlschreiber, Philipp
18 Istomin, Denis
19 Przysiezny, Michal
20 Matosevic, Marinko
21 Sela, Dudi
22 Qualifier / Lucky Loser
23 Bye
24(3) Youzhny, Mikhail
25(7) Seppi, Andreas
26 Qualifier / Lucky Loser
27 Qualifier / Lucky Loser

....

After this, qualifiers ended and the 4 Q and 1 LL were randomly put in the 5 spots available.

Bemelmans keeps not living up to his potential, and Bellucci was supposed to be the next big thing.

good to see that he has done well after the unexpected struggles in round 1

I hope he can find some form because there's still some time left for him to do some damage on the clay

if he's firing 100% then he is actually a favorite to win this title
