Interesting.

But I don't think it will matter in the end.

Rafa is a too experienced player for that to have much of an impact on his performance in Melbourne.

Too experienced for that to be a factor/excuse.

Given the situation, I can understand Moyá not traveling. Rooting for a 1R match vs Carlos Alcaraz.

Roig was Nadal's only coach when he won 2013 Indian Wells (including wins over Federer and Del Potro).
I can't remember if Toni was at 2013 Canada/Cincy when Nadal won them, but Toni was definitely not at Indian Wells.

Shouldn’t matter at all during matches since coaching isn’t allowed. But where it could come into play is on the practice courts. Harder to conduct a practice on a zoom call than in person. I’m sure Carlos will watch the matches, make notes, and then go over things.

It’d be better if Xisca not go. Being stuck in the same room with family members for 2 weeks is not healthy.

He’ll be fine cause he still has his mobster uncle to rig the draw for him
I hope you didn't mean it as an invective. Toni is much more of a natural force, a mystical human being, bringing rain or rain whenever needed.

When I find myself in times of trouble, Tio Toni comes to me, no?
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be, no?
And in my hour of darkness he is standing right in front of me, no?
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be, no?
