Paying homage to AD's thread in non-tennis, I thought I'd come up with nuggets of wisdom of my own to pass down:

1. Listen twice as much as you talk. That's why you have two ears and one mouth.

2. Cut yourself some slack. People make mistakes, and you will make your fair share.

3. Whatever your passion is, pursue it with all the time and talent that you have been blessed with.

4. Embrace solitude wholeheartedly. It's in the quiet moments you experience the joy of just being.

5. In your chosen vocation, remember that you're not only making a living-you're making a life.

6. Always fight fair. Don't bring up past events-even stuff that happened five minutes ago.

7. Learn as much as you can.

8. And...embrace wisdom. Nothing can compare.
