Re: Montreal Qualifying Entry List (updated July 18, 2017)

Would seem money is on Schnur, Bester, Peliwo, and Diez to get WC's for the qualies. If Dancevic doesn't get one for the MD, then probably gets one here and Bester is out. Best guess.

I am surprised Fritz isn't playing the Challenger in California this week. It would be a "home" tournament for him. But good luck to him here. If he qualifies, obviously better for his career.

Re: Montreal Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated July 26, 2017)

The qualifying wild cards also were announced.

The men: Philip Bester (who announced he was retiring in a few weeks), 2012 Wimbledon and US Open junior champion Filip Peliwo, 18-year-old Benjamin Sigouin and veteran Frank Dancevic.
Wow, Didn't see Bester is retiring. He's retiring in a challenger the week after this.

Benjamin Becker might actually get IN with so many withdrawals.

Fingers crossed.

Re: Montreal Qualifying Entry List (updated August 3, 2017)

Thought so. He's been playing three weeks for Springfield Lasers almost every day and probably needs some rest.

Thank you!
Hate to break the news but Benjamin Becker has retired from professional tennis after Wimbledon :/

Yes he withdrew.

Right now Christian Harrison is last in, next ones on list are Paul, Hurkacz, Viola, Sarmiento, Saville, Matosevic, Glasspool, and Dodig
Actually now Sarmiento is last person in. Kokkinakis, Granollers are out. We're also likely to get a few more withdrawals. It's possible that Dancevic also makes it in himself.

He hasn't retired yet. He is making a final decision at the end of this year. He'll play the US Open and a few Challengers before the end of the season.

OK, well there was news of retirement anyway. Also to play US open (Q) he needs 20 retirements, not sure that's happening.
