Some odd teams here. Would not have expected Mektic/Skugor to be back together again but I guess Zeballos must want to play with Gonzalez and Skugor is better if Mektic wants a long term partnership off clay. Bopanna/Inglot is interesting as I think they may be ok but they are really just two serves. And I thought Koolhof was playing all the M1000s with Tsitsipas? Here he is in the alts with Haase and Middelkoop is playing with Stefanos.

Yeah, that's very weird, I can only imagine Tsitsipas and Middelkoop decided they'd play MC together before that Tsitsihof Miami run and Tsitsipas didn't want to break the promise.

I'm not a big fan of Tsitsipas' but I like what he's doing in doubles 1000s. Instead of messing around with fellow singles players he tends to play with different doubles specialists which is probably good for his own allround game and obviously good for the doubles players that wouldn't be able to enter the draw without a high-ranked partner like Tsitsipas. And Tsitsipas is kind of forced to take it very seriously if he doesn't want to let down his partners for whom these 1000s are very important.

Dominic Inglot is such a legend of the sport. I remember when Haase paired with him on Wimbledon and after the match noted: ''My partner did not make one single return today, if this happens, it's impossible to win''.

Today Dominic Inglot had the golden opportunity to serve him and Bopanna to R2 over Murrray/Soares. Inglot double faulted at *9-7. Then at *11-12 he double faulted again. What a lad.

Haase/Koolhof beat Zverev/Zverev 10-8 in a match tiebreak.

First set tiebreak a rollercoaster. Zverev/Zverev got to 4-0, then lost 6 consecutive points, but managed to take it 10-8. I think Koolhof has a higher level than Middelkoop at the moment.

Haase/Koolhof ruined it. Had a set and 5-3 lead, got broken, had 7-5 and 9-7 lead in supertiebreak but messed it up. Haase with a very weak serve on matchpoint and Koolhof with an awful miss on 9-9. Both teams were really shaky on serve in the final tiebreak.

Followed Mektic/Skugor during their Wimbledon run - loved every moment and could never understand why they split. Now they are back together, let’s hope it is for a long time. Nikola Mektic once again establishes himself as one of the best doubles players around.
