Re: Monte-Carlo Entry List (updated March 20, 2012)

Del Potro playing Davis Cup & Estoril instead of here???

I wasn't expecting that, and I think it's a wrong move. Guess he is getting good guarantees for both.

Isner sticking around after Davis Cup smart move. Tomic and DY are the players that the others want to draw.

Quite the contrary, Isner is on the Houston entry list which means travelling back and forth from Monte Carlo.

He will withdraw from one of the events.

His return to Davis Cup is more expected by your countryman. Some of them still accuse him of unpatriotic…… It's a must. A lot of patriotic pressure.

Playing Estoril for defending and starting clay season, also understandable. After that is Madrid, Rome and FO next to next.

He played bad in Monte-Carlo years ago. And he need time to rest and train at home between DC and Estoril.

Re: Monte-Carlo Entry List (updated March 20, 2012)

So Federer (rest, may take a WC), Fish (American), Del Potro (wants rest?), Soderling (still hurt ), Roddick (hates clay), Bogomolov Jr. (dunno, probably doesn't want to play on clay), Davydenko (no idea), Baghdatis (no idea), Nalbandian (no idea, probably wants a rest), and Karlovic (hates clay) are not on this entry list.

Hopefully Tomic gets Young or some other shunt to beat.

He's obliged to play at least one DC tie if he wants to be selected for OG and he's Estoril's champ so it's normal to defend his title

Has Roddick ever played in this event? I'm somewhat surprised because his website says that he's going to be skipping Rome as well. I know he doesn't like playing on clay but these are good opportunites to earn a few extra ranking points.

Two times. Lost in R3 in 2002 (Haas 6-3 6-2), lost in R1 in 2003 (Portas 7-6 6-3).

Re: Monte-Carlo Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated March 28, 2012)

No doubt WCs will be wasted on top players who didn't bother entering in time.
