Of course not. It's just...a bit over the top especially the part where he throws his shirt with his opponent at the net ready to shake his hand

Maybe he watched "Magic Mike" before the final and he was inspired by that

Ok, couple of things about this one

1. Y'all don't understand the passion of black athletes, that is #1
2. It was his first futures title
3. The final score was 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 for fuck's sake
4. The end part with the shirt throwing, everybody does that after a tough match, come on

Save the shirt ripping and throwing after the handshake. No need to be a dick and do it right in front of the guy.

Murphy was gonna do this same thing after winning* his USO title, expect he was afraid his shirt would blow to Uganda and possibly be used as a political statement by the rebels.

Oh come on, he is 17

Youthful exuberance, nothing more, and the bro-clasp handshake was very crisp

The shirt ripping was a bit cringeworthy but otherwise nothing out the ordinary here. He just won his first title, nothing wrong in how he celebrated.

Something that happened on a futures court a thousand times before camera phones and YouTube existed... you just didn't know it. Let him express himself; it doesn't hurt anyone. It's worse to think we'll soon be surrounded by people who live their entire lives like they're on camera all the time (because at any moment they might well be).

And no, he shouldn't "wait" until he's won a Challenger title -- because then someone will say he should wait till he wins an ATP main tour title; and after that they'll say he should wait till he wins a slam . Besides, this may be the best he'll ever do. Not everyone's going to make it.

It was actually his second futures title.
