Re: Auger-Aliassime Def. Fucsovics 6-4 4-6 6-0

I've watched some bad tennis in 2019, but the quality of this match was right up there with the worst, especially the last half of the second set and the third

Felix the GOAT broke Fucsovics outta nowhere to win the first, blew his opportunity in the second but fought like a champ to BAGEL a hard court specialist, top 30 player in the third!! He's the real deal, folks!

Plays the winner of Thiem/Hurkacz next.

Impressive.
Fucsovics is a solid player.

Hopefully FAA fulfills his promise and becomes a future slam winner.
The last non-Big 3 slam was 2016 USO. Someone else is long overdue.

Second set was very bad by both I agree 100%. However when Felix got down a couple of break points in the 3rd set's opening game he did raise his level by a lot. Played some great points to hold and kept a fairly high level to close it off.

Just little glitches but otherwise, he goes through them with ease!
Too bad he gets Thiem next (I assume).

I also have to add commentary-free coverage is such a pleasure. The should call it irritation-free coverage.

I had commentary on RDS, didn't even think to switch to TSN, but the RDS commentators actually shut up during play, which is nice. I wish that in the digital age, there was a button we could press on to switch off the commentary from sports coverage.

I'm actually curious to see what he'll do against Thiem. I want to see what he's made of against the top players, that'll tell him what he has to improve if he can't win. At least he has a day off tomorrow.

Shit got really gaggy for Felix when he was in the home stretch leading 6-4 *4-2.

Well done to him for turning it around in set three and getting the bagel to boot.

Not great tennis from Marton. To put it mildly.

I didn't see the 2nd set (and Fucsovics basically tanked the 3rd oddly after failing to break to start the set), but you should go watch some of those Schnur challenger losses in Asia over the past few weeks if you want to really see something.

I would pay extra for a shut the commies button. I hate hitting mute because I want to hear the ball off the racquets and the grunts etc.

No Thiem afterall!
