Do you mean : because Karlovic is #20 he is better than Benneteau ? So why Anderson, #122, defeated Djokovic ??
The ranking doesn't mean much I think. And Benneteau is better than a #70.

It's starting to look like Karlovic's ranking is a bit of a fluke. Because Karlovic had so many optionals on the book he was able to get a very nice ranking, but now he gets big fat 0's (or 5's) for his early losses in TMS tournaments and the optionals will drop off very quickly. A few more clay TMS losses and he will drop 10-20 places maybe, and his year-end ranking probably won't be pretty.

A few more clay TMS losses and he will drop 10-20 places maybe, and his year-end ranking probably won't be pretty.

He may drop back a bit, but his points are very spread out over the year, and he's got good points from late season indoor hardcourt tournaments. Quite likely he'll pick up some serious points at Wimbledon, and those will replace a big 0. I wouldn't worry about his year end ranking. I very seriously doubt he'll have a big drop. Worst case senario maybe to 30 or so. But he tends to string together good runs now and then, so I wouldn't be surprised if he offsets some low points with some huge ones.
