Good win for Santi. Pablo struggled to hold serve throughout virtually the entire match. Andujar saved two BPs in his first service game. Santi then saved a BP of his own at 2 all before breaking for *4-2 after a long deuce game, in which Pablo saved two more BPs. Santi held for 5-2 and Pablo once again saved two BPs to hold, before Giraldo closed out the first set.

Second set, Giraldo got out to a *3-0 lead and won from there. Good, relatively comfortable win for Santi. Pablo did a good job saving BPs and remaining competitive but was too vulnerable on serve overall in the match. Giraldo vs Nadal in R2, should be an interesting match.
