De Voest led in all three sets. In all three sets he was mostly comfortable on serve until the end of the sets. In the second set he held on, but was broken serving for the match to 15 after having *0-30 to win the match at 5-*3 on return in the third. Bautista had a 6-*3 lead in the final set tiebreak before finally winning. Match took 2:50 to complete. Another questionable loss for De Voest, who has let leads slip from winning positions many times throughout the course of his career. Bautista plays the winner of Lorenzi-Brugues Davi in the final round of qualifying.

Bautista is always competitive and is a natural fighter, no surprise he came up trumps in a close encounter such as this.

Is De Voest a poor loser..."A loss is always tough, losing to an unsportsmanlike opponent is just a little harder to take."
