Most days in Miami, and even now in the final, the stadium looks just empty. Any reason why is that?

This contrasts a lot with Indian Wells for example, which has full pretty much every day.

I heard some commentators speculating about this and they argued the location move of the facility which is now more distant to the city center might have played a role because people coming out of work had previusly more chances to get to the stadium

It was actually pretty full today...regarding the empty stands that are shown in tv...those stands aren't for sale...you have to remember that this is a stadium built inside an NFL stadium. Miami this year also probably has record attendance despite rain issues. Outside courts were pretty much full for most of the tournament.
This was Ben's tweet yesterday during Women's final -

Yet IW which is in the middle of nowhere gets full stadium and crowds. Excuses. Miami/South Florida is a metro area of over 6 milion people and is a big tourist destination. There's no excuses.

There were still a lot of empty seats in sections where there were people at...It's not a good look when the ATP mens final which has Federer in it looks that empty on ground level.

Oh, so it's not so bad, I guess.

Because this Miami stadium location is f**king out of the way.
It's actually much more centralized for all of South Florida than the way out the fucking way Key Biscayne

Problem is the site is not as good imo as Key Biscayne

the lower stands had few empty seats...but in general, the main stadium's attendance at Miami this year has been disappointing...from what I have seen on twitter, ppl were saying that in general problem is that the main stadium's prices have been super high whereas ground passes cost has been low (like some $20)...so many people rather preferred to watch in outside courts rather than paying super high prices for main court.

Doesn't look too bad in this pic

But there are those empty ends -- which are actually behind the court (you wouldn't see much from there). I didn't get to see much of the semis but today seems to be the first day that they covered up at least one part of those "empty seats" -- which I was wondering why they didn't do from the beginning. You can see a bit in this clip one section of light blue seats has a darker blue tarp over them.

Maybe Miami´s new stadium also had too little publicity yet?

A tennis court is really small and when you place it on a soccer/fotball field you really need to build around it.

There is always simplier to build a temp tennis court indoors but when you do it outdoors it becomes really difficult so don't blame Miami

No Rafa, no Novak, no Murray, no Serena or Sharapova. Only a 138 year old granddaddy that the tennis media continue to tell us is popular worldwide, despite the fact he can't fill stadiums or pull in high ratings when not facing Rafa.

Lol have they ever lived down here? No way in hell you're getting out of work in the city and getting to Key Biscayne any sooner then you're getting to Davie

The NFL stadium is in the middle of the ghetto is the problem while Key Biscayne was luxury living

So you say rafa/nole vs Isner would draw a larger crowd or higher ratings, I really doubt that
