Re: Metz Entry List (T/K)

So Monfils and Kohlschreiber are the biggest with history in Metz of those not playing this time. Zverev was a good early signing, as you would expect him to play in Russia.

But the bad surprise for me is that Paire is playing St.Petersburg.

I am a little surprised it is as weak as it is. I thought Monfils and paire would be in at the very least.

Man that's a weak field...only 2 top 20 players? And 8 from the top 50.

Benny makes his return here, nice.:)

Why would you expect him to play Russia?

Re: Metz Entry List (updated August 11, 2015)

Can you explain that a bit more, JMG? What are the strong connections? I'm aware that his father was a russian tennis player, but he has lived in Germany since 1991.

BTW, Zverev has never played a pro tournament in Russia.

I get you are taking the piss, so why should I answer?

Anyway, if someone has Russian blood and speaks Russian on court, Russia is certainly a big part of him.

Metz was the first tournament where he got a QWC so its quite important for Sascha :)
