No Robredo or Nadal? Must explain how Lopez/Verdasco got back together. :)

David Ferrer is turning into quite the doubles whore if I do say so myself - Gasquet at Montreal, Robredo at Cincy, Andreev at New Haven, and now Calatrava in New York!

 For the last GS of the year, a lot of these partnerings seem really random. Was everyone so desperate to play real doubles for the last time ever (maybe) every man asked the player physically closest him to the lounge right before the deadline to play with him?

Good luck to/buena suerte a:

Scoville Jenkins USA/Bobby Reynolds USA
Feliciano Lopez ESP/Fernando Verdasco ESP
Alex Calatrava ESP/David Ferrer ESP
Michael Llodra FRA (6)/Fabrice Santoro FRA (6)
Wayne Black ZIM (4)/Kevin Ullyett ZIM (4)
Fernando Gonzalez CHI (15)/Nicolas Massu CHI (15)
Bob Bryan USA (2)/Mike Bryan USA (2) - time to win a slam this year!

Damn, Xavier not playing doubles at all. I was hoping he would draw Ollie and partner in the first round, that would have been fun :p

lol the non-existance of Robredo and Nadal not only not playing together, but neither of them playing at all was the first thing I noticed. I can understand Rafa maybe not wanting to, since he probably plans to be playing singles for a while ;), but I'm surprised Tommy didn't find SOMEONE to play with. It's so unlike him to not play doubles two weeks in a row. First New Haven now here, usually some Argentine or Spaniard is willing to partner up with him.

I suppose you refer to the new scoring system...
My understanding is that the new system is applied only in ATP tournaments... there will be no change in grand slams...

Correct: ATP only, not ITF (Grand Slams, Davis Cup, Olympics).

I'd play with David anytime.

Good luck to all the pairs! I'll be very excited to see who's left next week when I'm there.
