Yes the point did matter, but Goffin still went away way too easy after that. This was one of the biggest matches of his life, you're not gonna stop competing because of 1 point, no matter how much injustice was done. Maybe he was also tired, but in that case he was not gonna win anyway.

The match started out really exciting. Looked like Goffin had a real chance and the match could go either way. I agree that Goffin really demonstrated poor mental strength and collapsed too easily, but it's still a disgrace how he was robbed.

Goffin had gamepoint to go up 4-2 in the 1st set, but Mourier overruled a call. Rafa's shot was clearly out by like 20 centimeters, as shown by hawkeye. Goffin was blatantly ROBBED of that game and imploded after that. The match was competitive until then, after that incident it was practically over. That gross umpire mistake sucked the life right out of the match. Disgusting

At least the umpire and Rafa got booed rightfully for it over the course of the match.

I'm worried about Nadal's form and mentality, because he needs stuff like this to happen during a weak MC Masters to get passed Goffin who was clearly affected by things happening at 3-2. Not the best day in men's tennis.
