Agassi was great on all surfaces. So was Borg, Laver and so many others etc. This era because of Homogenisation Fed and Djokovic are great on all surfaces as well, but the competition is weaker. Nadal misses out because of his poor indoor hc record and inflated grass record. He's been quite poor on grass from 2012-17.

Whats with Fed fans trying to erase the GOAT debate? Theyve lived merrily considering Fed the undisputed GOAT from 2007 onwards.

Big 3 is great on all surfaces, but for the most part they stopped each other from winning the double/triple Career Slam.

I get this is the women's game, but an example like Serena (at least 3 of each; 7 in AO, 3 in FO, 7 in Wimbledon, 6 in USO) may be that example, pretty even with FO interestingly the one lagging (but not by much). Nadal's RG dominance is so affecting that skew because not only does RG constitute 65% of his total Slams, but Federer's RG only is 5% of the total while Djokovic's is ~6%. Nadal likely needs 2 more AOs to minimize skew (still means 62% RG if we assume +2 AO +2 RG in the next 2 years). I think maybe even just overtaking Fed in the USO count may be enough though.

Look get over it. FOR NOW Federer and Nadal are sharing the argument. In 5 years time Djokovic will have relegated both to 2nd and 3rd spot.

Let them have their few years of glory. When Djokovic is the same age as Federer is now. He will have obliterated most of Federers records. And there will be no question in any sane unbiased persons mind who the greatest is.

Rod laver didnt play on grass, hardcourt and clay in 4 different slams. So no he didnt dominate. He had a few decent rivals. Nothing like the field today. He would be lucky to make a semi final today.

Laver won slams on indoor wood. He is a three surface slam winner just like the big three. You need to read up on your history.
If we are talking overall tennis GOAT, that would be Court with 24 singles slams including a CYGS. She won 50% of the slams she entered. She also had the highest winning percentage on all surfaces in the Open era, and 64 total slams won across all disciplines.
Nobody picks their rival and it's subjective anyway. Like you say: all we have are numbers and achievements.
