French newspaper l'Equipe published an interesting stat following latest Monfils match vs. Nole

Sauver des balles de match, un art maîtrisé par Novak Djokovic - Tennis - ATP

I do not check their stats :

Nole saved 47 match points in 15 matches, most known are USO 2010 and 2011 and of course Wimbledon 2019.
Rafa saved match points in 14 matches before winning.
Federer saved match points in 22 matches before winning.

On the opposite side :

Nole lost 3 matches after having match points, one of them particularly painfull was Madrid 2009 SF vs. Nadal.
Rafa lost 8 in the same conditions.
Federer lost 22.

That is telling who the mental GOAT is.
In a way that is the ultimate measure, but an even better stat would be who saved the most BPs. At least Nadal and Djokovic are in the leader pack there as well.

Impressive you are better than L'Equipe French Journalist (which not surprise me that much considering how bad they could be).

there are feds 2 matches (from 2001 and 2002) that are mentioned in some media but usually do not occur in such discussions. I've put them in parentheses.

if you check only slams, then fed lost a whole 6 matches (2 in respective AO, W and USO, ) and half of those of nole, but also saved MB 4 times. no other big4 has lost MB and lost a match in slams. nole has won 5 slam matches with saved MB (3 against fed) and has done it in all slams except in AO. rafa saved 1 MB in Ao 2005.

I was able to find sources confirming he had a match point in the 2001 match vs Novak, but my research points strongly to Federer not having had any match points against Escude in 2002:

Amazing that since 2009 Djokovic has only lost 1 match in which he had match point (and only 1 match point). He followed up that loss by winning W, USO, and the complete Masters set in the next 3 months (after not winning anything in a long time).
In that same period of time he has won 11 matches in which he had MP against ( a total of 37 match points against). Imagine the betting odds on that occurring at the end of 2009. Wild.

Thank you to those who compiled this data. It must have required a significant amount of time.
