I was TRYING to watch the Federer/Santoro massacre on the Tennis Channel. And, my ears are on the verge of bleeding...and I truly believe I may be listening to the most annoying commentator in the history of tennis. Why? First, she almost NEVER shots up. Second, her jokes make Carrot Head sound like a genius. Third, her insight is actually "outsight"...actually taking away from the understanding of the match, and, at times, even occurring while points are being played...great..."analysis" while matches are going on. Finally, her she cannot stop mentioning that Roger is not in real match...but some kind of practice match.

All I can say is "HELP"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do wish she wouldn't comment on EVERYTHING. She does yap non-stop. It is annoying.

But Justin [at least I assume it was him] did pay Santoro some respect when he said several times that just because it looked easy for Roger didn't mean that it was.

I disagree with you. I watched an old match of theirs on the Tennis Channel recently and I came away with a LOT of respect for Evert. She was a tough and talented player. It was a great match.

I like most of her commentary, but I agree, she talks far too much. I hate when anyone talks during points, unless it's a courtside person with relevant information.

I totally agree with you, actually Evert was hitting with a lot more pace during her encounter against Navra at the 1982 Australian open. Chris hit her backhand with a lot more penetration and her forehand too was hit with a lot more pace than Navratilova's. Sure Navra was not yet Navra, she was showing signs however. Nonetheless, Evert was pretty skilled and a great champion of the game.

(by the way this match was on grass and the player that looked like they were massaging the mall was the "aggressive" player or serve and volleyer Martina.)

Chris Evert was probably the most interesting player ever in the WTA circuit! And this comes from a WTA basher, but hell if all players were like Evert, WTA would be better than ATP!

And yes, Navratilova needs to come back to win her 35445561524th Grand Slam as her commentary skills suck donkey balls!

Never heard her commenting, but the above sounds about right to me... no disrespect for Santoro but it DID look as if Roger considered this a practice match... to polish his net skills a bit.

Poor Fab just doesn't have any weapons to hurt Roger these days. His tricks can work on mindless ball bashers or one dimensional types of guys (even though they can sometimes owerpower Santoro and still win) - but Federer is basically a Santoro with power (Santoro V2.1 turbo+ :devil. Play cat & mouse for a while, then unleash the mighty forehand (or even topspin BH sometimes ) and the point is usually over. No wonder Fed wasn't nervous at all and hitting the ball with conviction...

I haven't been at home to see too much of the tennis on TV, but yes I agree. Martina is the worlds worst commentator, even worse than John Newcombe, and thats saying something. Not a single good thing about her.

Personally I like her commentary and don't find her annoying at all; but then again I never watch for more than 30-60 minutes anyway.

I never pay attention to commentators. I'm more interested in what's going on on the court than what the people are saying. So I never know who is bad or good commentator. The only thing that annoys me about Martina is her giggle.
