Felix gets it across the finish line...

Blew the first set.

Felix was down two match points at 4-6 in the second set tie-break. Travagila played aggressive and far better than his ranking. Felix probably had a bit of trouble re-charging after the Rotterdam final.

Felix not playing his best but he did when it counted, Total points 108/107. Two Canadians into the quarters with Shapo yet to play.

Pospisil is in the quarters but Felix isn't in the quarters yet. ?

As for the match, I tuned in at the end of the second set. Wasn't the cleanest match by any means and could've easily lost. It's always a plus when you save match points...I also recall him saving match points against Brown last year in Stuggart so it wasn't the first time.

Good for Felix to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat after he let the first set slip away. Travaglia was redlining and the better player for long stretches. A couple points towards the end of the second set TB didn't go his way, and from then FAA carried the momentum into the decider.

Hopefully, this win will lift his spirits. He's a different player when he hits freely. Sadly, that mostly happens there's nothing to lose, which is usually too late. He has the ability to construct points very well when he thinks clearly, but he rushes too much and looks like a brain frozen kid more often than not. Same goes for Sinner, btw. Both obviously need time. Hopefully not years, though.
