Amazing run for Mardy, it's a shame he couldn't top it off with the win but doesn't take anything away from his awesome performance. Another big jump in the rankings too, nice!

Glad he pulled out of New Haven, definitely the best thing to do. Can't wait to see him come back strong in New York.

Mardy's USO draw:
R1 vs Hajek - should not be a problem
R2 vs Cuevas/Silva - no problem hopefully
R3 vs Baghdatis - this one will be very hard, tough to predict, both are in a great form
R4 vs Djokovic - okay let's get to R4 first ;)

Mardy won 6-0 3-6 4-6 6-0 6-1.
A win is a win, but I almost had a heart attack after 3rd set.

I watched the last two sets after also having a heart attack!! Don't know what the hell happened in the 2nd and 3rd, the stats were ridiculous compared to the 1st and 4th! So happy Mardy came back strong though. Let's hope for an easier time against Cuevas!

Mardy and Mark won their R1 doubles match in 3 sets. :worship:
But 8 sets in 2 days is not really good.
It will be hard for Mardy to keep playing both singles and doubles for a whole week. :tape:
They get Bryans in R3 in doubles, so I guess it won't last long.

Yup Mardy really is going for it isn't he!! Let's hope he can go deep in at least one of the two, preferably the singles of course but either will do! Although as you say, with the Bryans in R3 it doesn't look likely!

Good luck against Cuevas today Mardy! Come on! :D

7-5 6-0 6-2 over Cuevas! Mardy is not playing very well right now, but still he looks very confident!
Next is Clement, who should be a tougher opponent than Hajek or Cuevas.
Go Fishy! :bounce:

Mardy and Mark won their R2 doubles!
They will face Bryans for a place in QF as expected! :bounce:
I would like like Bryans to win another Slam, but I always cheer for Mardy, so it is a hard match-up for me.
Tommorrow R3 singles vs Clement! Come on!

Clement is playing so well... Mardy's level of play dropped in 4th set. Please Fishy win this! :bounce:

So now Mardy gets to play Djokovic for a place in QF! Their H2H is 4-0 in Djokovic favor, so Mardy is definetely not a fave of this match. If he improves his serve and forehand, he can stand a chance! Another important thing is that Mardy needs to come to this match as fresh as possible! He already played 18 sets this week, so it gonna be tough.
Come on Mardy! :bounce: You've got nothing to lose!

Got back from vacation to see Mardy is still going strong in both singles and doubles! Amazing. I really hope he doesn't tire - he will need everything he's got beat Nole, but I think the time is now to break the run of bad form he's had against him. So looking forward to this match, COME ON MARDY!!! :bounce: :bigclap:

Unfortunately Mardy lost in both singles and doubles today. Mardy was serving badly and playing a bit passive. I think the reasons of this must be strugling with wind and being tired!
Anyway amazing summer! Hope Mardy takes a rest, then keeps working on his game to bring his best to Asia Swing!

Really gutted about the loss yesterday. I watched the whole match and it just wasn't the same Mardy. He seemed really deflated, and wasn't sharp at all. So disappointing for him. No surprise at the loss in the doubles after that, let's hope for a good autumn for Mardy. Davis Cup next!

Got a great seat for the fifth set of Fish/Clement on Saturday and took loads of Mardy pics. Thought you guys might enjoy them. The link is available on my blog at http://achangeofends.blogspot.com/2010/09/saturday-at-us-open.html

My photobucket account also have pics of Mardy during the Newport final, which he won in July.
