I've had to deal with some urgent situation at work, concerning 1 of our student. I learned she was homeless since 2 weeks, because she had been late to pay her loans, and she had accumulated a pretty big bill. But, as she never told anyone about it, no one here knew she was in a precarious situation. It's only when we noticed she didn't have her school books that we realized there was something. When she told me she had been left outside, I just could have fallen down on the ground. There are laws, procedures to respect. But she's a girl, a foreigner (she's from Mayotte and hasn't seen her family for 3 years now), a real sweet girl that obviously looks like the one who will never say anything no matter what you do to her. That makes me crazy. Of course, I've spent hours on the phone with social workers and everyone that could help her. The situation is still not great, but tonight, she'll sleep in her bed, in her flat. 17 days it didn't happen to her....
