Too bad Jeremy, would have done the tournament a huge favor by taking out this guy. He kind of collapsed when serving to stay in the matach, serving 2 consecutive doubles to gift raonic 2 match points. he saved those but was broken on the 3rd

nishikori or Guillermo Garcia Lopez will be his 3rd round opponent. hopefully nishikori

Much better than his attitude/effort last week and now 4-0 career against Chardy. Milos didn't even lose to him when he was playing poor tennis last summer in Montreal, it certainly wasn't going to happen today with him in decent form and in a place where the conditions look to be far more conducive to his game (it almost felt like an indoor match).

Getting his 4th straight M1000 QF against Kei will surely be much tougher than the previous three, though. Their final in Tokyo was incredibly close a few years back and I would expect another good one.

How could he play poor in Montreal when reached the Final there though?

From Madrid to Montreal last year, every one of milos's matches were somewhere between almost-decent and horrible. Even the Chardy match was barely decent - but at least he won. He did get better as the tournament went on but getting to the final was frankly a combination of luck, mental strength, and playing just good enough to win ( until Nadal blew him off the court). That result gave him confidence though and his play in the final part of 2013 was much improved.

he had a bit of luck. The draw opened up for him, Delpo was the only top player he beat and he was far from 100%. He could have easily lost against Gulbis and Vasek but the crowd and a bit of choking from his opponents helped him.

Milos played very well. The serve was fantastic, great volleys, powerful forehand. His return game is also improving.

Will root for him to win the entire tournament now.
