It's funny how Karatsev (whose ranked outside the Top 100 right now) is predicted to win this if he keeps up his form this tournament...and somehow this is NID.

Aslan woke up from his cave to win Madrid...

...only to then wander around challengers until the year-end

He was moaning about not having enough place.
He had a point, as Arantxa Sanchez Stadium only has seven metres place behind the baseline. :oh:

Karatsev when on is just a joy to watch.

Key factor is the serve, which is not always as good as today.

Those cross courts forehands are mindblowing, probably the heaviest in the game.

To much complaining from Daniil. Proud on the lion who keeps so calm.

From what I saw (which was only a little bit) Meddy didn’t play that poorly but he had difficulty here controlling his shots so he was hitting a lot of soft balls allowing Karatsev to dictate. Hopefully when he’s not playing in altitude he can swing out more and dictate because that’s what he needs to do on clay to win.

Karat loves soft balls
