Berdych will be hard, but beatable.
Lleyton has to make him play a lot of balls, and then Berdych will start to spray them wide or long.

I agree with you (again on the same page!), hope Hewitt can win this one and then go on deep. Could well be one of the brighter moments for Oz at this one.

This is actually shaping up to be a very odd USO all around, with the stayers like Hewitt and Federer having the chance to do very well indeed given their draws, and the hot young prospects facing a rather tougher ride. My pessimistic prognostications can be found here:

Really shocked about the draw. Considering his latest performances Lleyton needs a miracle. Another early exit at a slam would probably push Lleyton into retirement. :(

Drysdale said that Lleyton didn't plan to retire soon. He confirmed schedule after USO and Aussie summer. USO very important tournament but Lleyton has always said that he has 3 most major events: Australian Open, Wimbledon and Davis Cup.
