Truly nice guy :worship:

Here are some videos I made of him at future tournaments :)

I like the last one, it was a very tight match and he really wanted that win.

Kirche had never won a future title until the start of this year. In 2008 he managed to win 3 titles, raised a lot his game and last week he entered the top 400 for the first time, reaching a career high 379.

In previous years he used to play some futures at other countries, but this year he only played Brazilian futures. It was good for him to reach a good ranking, now he should try some challengers qualies as well, maybe even direct ranking in some weak ones. Here are his title runs this year:

Brazil F16, Brazil
FU , 18-Aug-08, O, Clay , Draw: 32

R32 Baran, Andre (BRA) 1860 6-1 6-2 Stats
R16 Ramirez, Juan-Carlos (PAR) 1489 6-2 7-5 Stats

S Romboli, Fernando (BRA) 641 6-3 7-5 Stats
W Valverde, Juan-Manuel (ARG) 617 6-3 6-2 Stats

Brazil F30, Brazil

R16 Gresh, Jamie (USA) 0 6-3 6-3 Stats
Q Dracos, Benjamin (FRA) 571 6-1 6-4 Stats
S Mesaros, Kristijan (CRO) 564 6-4 6-4 Stats
W Giussani, Gaston (ARG) 986 3-6 6-0 6-3 Stats

He played a total of 20 tournaments:

W: 3 times
RU: 2
SF: 7

Vamos Leo, 2009 can be even better and you deserve it :)

He lost to Kryvonos at the first round last week.

Now he will face Brazilian João Wiesinger at Brazil F35. Let's hope he wins the title this time, this would give him a WC to São Paulo challenger in January.

Leo played some challengers qualies at Italy last month but had no success on reaching the main draw. Hopefully this experience will help him get good results at the Brazilian futures season that will start in May :yeah:

Great start of the Brazilian futures season for him, he won 4 matches and only lost in the final to Julio Silva. He also defeated the 1st seed Andre Miele in 2 easy sets.

Keep winning the matches Leo and let's try to play some challengers as well :yeah:

Another final for Kirche, but he couldn't clicnh the title again. This time he lost 4-6 7-5 7-6 to Carlos Oliveira, a relatively old guy (32 years old) who didn't follow the professional career but started playing futures last year.

Leo now plays another future at Uberlândia, hopefully he can have a good run again.

First future title of the year for Leo, in Fortaleza :worship:

It was his revenge against Carlos Oliveira in the final.

Keep it up man.

Just discovered this thread but I've followed Leonardo Kirche for 4-5 months now (I think I first stumbled across him having seen one of your videos Caio Brazil), he seems to have a nice style of play and placid yet competitive exterior on court - which is a nice mix

Im not sure if you know C-B, but do you have any insider knowledge on why Kirche took a 2 and a half month sabatical at the beginning of this year?

Keep up the thread anyway :yeah:

I don't know for sure, but most likely he was doing a pre-season during this period. He and many other futures players of Brazil played tournament until the last week of 2008, so they probably made their schedule to start on the new futures season, whic began on April here. He actually played some tournaments on Europe this year, but that's probably the reason.

Glad to see someone else posting here :)

He came reasonably close to winning two Futures titles in consecutive weeks but just missed out..

Brazil F6

R1: Leonardo KIRCHE (BRA) (2) defeated SAEZ Juan Carlos (CHI) 7-6(3) 6-4
R2: Leonardo KIRCHE (BRA) (2) defeated FERRAZ Danilo (BRA) 6-4 6-2
QF: Leonardo KIRCHE (BRA) (2) defeated RIBEIRO NETO Eladio (BRA) (5) 5-7 6-4 6-4
SF: BENEDETTI Cristian (ARG) (3) defeated Leonardo KIRCHE (BRA) (2) 6-1 7-6(6)

Benedetti went on to lose the final 1 & 1

Onto next week.. I'm wondering where he will decide to play - Could it be Brazil F7?! ;)

He should try some challengers as well, just playing the Brazilian futures he will have a hard time climbing the rankings and facing better players.
