Well it was doubles day in davis cup. :tennis:

SCG - Ilija Bozoljac and Nenad Zimonjic :worship:
GBR - Greg Rusedski and Andrew Murray :yeah:

It was a packed and patriotic crowd which filled the Braehead Arena today, desparate to catch a glimpse of the Scottish champ Andy Murray sticking one to 'johnny foreigner'.

The First Set - Serbia won the toss and elected to serve. Nenad and Ilija and Greg a;; got of to a great start whilst Andy Murray seemed a little sluggish. On his first service game, Andy was all over the place and lost serve easily. The Serbians consolodated the break with some great serving and thoroughly enjoyable volleying. Serbia winning the set 6-3.

The second set started and a hyped up crowd began to get into the match. Despite his world doubles ranking, it was Nenad who found his serve most under pressure and it seemed like he constantly had to serve at break point down. Eventually after much harranging by the crowd, Nenad succumb and Great Britain went on to take the second set. At this point the crowd and the momentum seemed to be going Team GB's way.

The third set started and things began to get ugly :boxing: , from both sides. There were a few dodgy line calls, some heckling by the crowd and some fraying tempers Nenad continued to serve poorly, but continued to hold off break points, frustrating the brits and their supporters. Ilija serves were astonishing 140mph!!!. Greg (looking a bit tired at this point) lost his serve after serving some double faults to let Serbia get a 4-2 advantage. This really boosted the Serbian team and its loyal band of 8 supporters (Note to the Serbian Supporters for tomorrows matches be more vocal!!! :)) Serbia went on to win the set 6-3

The fourth set started poorly for team GB. Rusedski losing the opening service game. it seemed to be all over for the Brits, however the crowd swung into action again and helped Greg and andy break back for 2-2. However, in Andy Murray was then broken and Serbia (rightfully so in my opinion) went on to win the match.

The celebrations by the Serbs were more like they had actually won the Davis Cup rather than just the doubles rubber. But it was a great match thoroughly enjoyed by all the spectators who gave all the players much support.

Final Score - SCG def GBR 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-4
SCG lead the tie 2-1

Greg looked tired after his 3 hours yesterday and 2 hours today. He next plays Novak Djokovic, who will be fresher after a much shorter game on Friday and having had a day off.

Andy Murray hinted in an interview he would likely play the final rubber if the match was still live.
