This thought is good for Laver Cup, large tournaments, and the yearly Finals.
Players & tournament organizations make so many $millions, that I suddenly got an idea.

All the big famous tournaments, should have one free day. Not just the first day, but in the middle.
For the free ticket, there could be some sort of a lottery one month before the tournament begins.
That would prevent confusing crowds standing in line on the free day, hoping to get a seat.

An alternative idea would be 〰〰 no special free day, but for each day of the tournament,
10% of the tickets would randomly, by luck, be free for those ordering tickets at any time.
------ So Be It :cheer: ------

This is a business not a charity my friend

In fact, even charity matches have a price

I'm imagining the scene before the photo shoot going something like this.
Captain Agassi to Team World: Chin up, boys, show them we're in it to win it... Four of them listening. Shelton mishearing and giving his sunniest smile instead.
Captain Noah to Team Europe: Look mean, take no prisoners... Four of them getting it right to varying degrees, Rune and Mensik absolutely nailing it. Cobolli and Ruud not really managing it, due to them not having 'mean' in their vocabulary. Fonseca overhearing the advice to the other team and thinking, I can do mean.

Good teams, some star power on both sides, I'm looking forward to the new captains. Could be a close thing. I'm thinking Team World have the edge both in singles and doubles. Plus the 4 Americans are good friends and have the advantage as far as team spirit goes. Shame there's no Aussie on the team, but good to have 2 players from S. America.

I hope we get to see Mensik vs. Fonseca. We're likely to get Alcaraz vs. either Shelton or Fritz, but I'd personally quite like to see him matched against Paul, to see whether Paul can hurt him on indoor hard courts. I'd also like to see Rune vs. Shelton, because they've only played once before. We'll probably end up with yet another Zverev vs. Fritz and Ruud vs. Cerundolo, neither of which would overly excite me.

Ugh, Team USA/World will lose again.

Last year, Shelton & Fritz were the only players with positive match records (FC doesn't count). Ben's talents are being wasted at LC & he needs to stop playing the event. Still, I do enjoy watching him battle in those red shirts. Credit to Cerundolor who won both of his singles matches in 2023 & 2024, before a knee issue rendered him useless when we needed him most down the home stretch.

In addition to the limited Aussie, Coconutcase, I knew choosing Tabillow in '24 was a bad choice. A rash, McEnroe decision made from recency bias instead of truth. Never select mentally brittle players for team events. Thankfully, Tableaux is out of the picture this year. I'm not sold on the undercooked, inconsistent J'oww Forsaken. Yes, he won Next Gen, but this is different.

Also, where is Canada? If we're gonna lose, surely you can swap out one of the aging Americans for one of the 3 Mooseketeers? I don't like that Aghastly was helping Runescape find form before LC instead of focusing on USA/World.

As usual, Tiafool can't be trusted to deliver. He's perpetually unfocused and is more interested in being a class clown hype machine than winning. See: Tiaflop's infamous mx performance with Serena. I'll never forget. Last year, Tiafail completely botched Day 3 & reminded people why Shelton is far better. Ben's match against Meddiocre was the best match of the day. By the time we had to go to Fratz, the writing was on the wall.

1.) What's the ticket price for an average seat in the Chase Center?

2.) Any old timers out there remember the large "Cow Palace" which was just south of S.F.?
It was used as a place for different types of activities, like the yearly Warren Miller ski movie.
I wonder if it's still standing, or torn down to build more condos?

I am shocked no-one is mentioning that this could (and let's face it, given the reality TV show that is Laver cup, will) be the very first official match in the upcoming Razseca rivalry.

@Fogmeister pls comment on the upcoming clash, in particular how many games you think Fonseca will let Raz win out of pity.

Fonseca 6-7 6-4 6-3 or Alcaraz 6-2 4-6 6-3 win. Depends on how Alca will start the match, but a hard-fought 3-setter expected.
