i can assure you that it changed my life forever. i cant live without tennis even for a day. very early on i saw so many similarities between chess and tennis that i was hooked in no time flat.

it was a way to totally destroy an opponent physically and mentally without even laying a hand on him. i was just a kid but i thought that was a very cool aspect of the game.

share your very first experience and thoughts about the sport. and did it change you?

Tennis doesn't change lives, MTF does.

Thanks for the article. I love to read about tennis being used in a positive way. There was a terrific article in one of the tennis magazines last year about an inmate who took up tennis and how it changd his life. That jUtah udge will have his hands full with him :) On a personal level, when I taught at a high school fro drop-outs, I used tennis as fun way to be a small group of kids. They enjoyed it, and the mile trek to and from the courts often were the best talks of the week.
