Yes, one would think that. Yes aside from Paris 2005, his record indoors is pretty mediocre. Including Paris 2005, he has only got past the quarterfinals of three out of 20 main draw ATP indoor events in his career. His career record indoors in the main draw of ATP indoor events is just 23-19. Take away Paris 2005 and it is just 17-19.
