Medvedev would play for 20th consecutive match win. Medvedev is the current holder of the Tennis Champion of the World Belt, after defeating Djokovic in Dubai, becoming the current undefeated player with the longest streak on tour.

Alcaraz would play for #1, trying to secure 2 extra weeks to his tally.

They are the hottest two players besides Novak right now.

I agree, it would be an awesome final and it looks like we are headed for exactly that.

I think the only real risk to Carlos is FAA who I think he'll meet in the quarter finals. Carlos I think will meet Fritz in the Semi which shouldn't be too hard for him. It may be Sinner though but I think Carlos can beat him as well.

However Daniil has to get through Zverev before he can get to the quarters which is by no means a given. If he gets through Zverev then I think he'll cruise through to meet Rublev in the Semi and I don't see Rublev beating him.

I think Daniil's in a good mental space at the moment, he's let the 2022 AusOpen recede into the dark past and is brimming with confidence. I think he will take the title.

Disagreed. What we need is not again another fake number one in the face of obvious discrimination, so the wins getting spread between different players would be a good thing. Fritz in the final would be good news for example.

I guess objectively it is, having a peaking recent #1 facing another recent #1, eras being close with each other, although some say here, this tournament may not be the best to showcase Medvedev's strengths.

We need this matchup to happen at USO,
this week is probably too early for Alcaraz to hit peak level and Medvedev doesn't like the courts, so I doubt we would get a particularly good match.
