It seems building your game around out-fitnessing the tour isn't made for a long career.

But i guess that was to be expected when your lifelong coach is a glorified cheerleader riding on the success of his nephew but unable to use these naive tactics to guide any other player on the pro circuit.

How is 17 years on the tour not a long career? And calling Toni Nadal a "cheerleader" is... well, that's quite naive, if I do say so myself.
As others pointed out, Nadal's career is so marred by injuries he's never been able to defend a title outside clay.

And as i wrote, Tony could never be a successful coach with anyone else outside his nephew, because he simply doesn't understand what tactics a pro tennis player needs to enforce.

His tennis knowledge pretty much begins and ends with "My moonball to your backhand "
