Dusan was always in control of this one. got a break ahead early in both sets. would eventually get broken back but always responded well and put kokkinakis's serve under pressure immediatley. after he got broken back in the 2nd set he got 0-40 on kokk;s serve but couldnt take it. got a 0-40 again to break for 6-5 and held to 15 to close it out.

3-0 H2H2 now. this is a match up that seems to favor dusan heavily, as he's also 6-0 in sets against him

Kokkinakis did well to keep it fairly close but I think like Kyrgios he won't settle on clay immediately.

Bad for the sport
Every loss of 96+ generation to a older player is good for the sport especially for prodigies like Kokk or Coric.

We don't need new teenagers quickly becoming top 30 like Tomic and then as quickly dissapearing for a couple of seasons be it for physical, technical, mental or motivational reasons.

Good result but not a big surprise. Lajovic had previously owned Kokkinakis on hard courts so he was always likely to repeat that success on clay. His R2 match is certainly winnable too. :yeah:

Lajovic is a middle tier clay courter by now, he can easily beat any player above Top50 on clay.
