Nadal is probably out. Murray and Djokovic aren't playing well ATM. Federer is playing pretty well and has always done well at US Open.

Is this Federer's best chance to win #18?

It's a good chance for sure. Could see him reaching the final again but Wimbledon this year was a better chance seeing as that was in his favourite surface.

Jesus Christ ...can you stop this federer last chance rot.
Every time these tards come and tell the world this is last.

Listen...
Federer's last is already done...which is number 17.
Don't be greedy....federer already won so many when there was no competition. 17 is not a small number.
Let other people win slams now.
Just be happy for what your idol got and appreciate how the current players are struggling to at least win a slam in this strong competition.

Yeah and it certainly looks like that with the amount of easy matches hes having lately. Oh wait...

No.

In fact USO has been Federer's worst slam. It is the slam he won last the longest ago (2008). It is the slam he made the finals last the longest ago (2009).

Results since 2010: SF, SF, QF, R16. Clearly on a downwards spiral.

Roger's best chance is Wimbledon in particular this year's final playing a far from great grasscourter.

All depends if Nadal plays. If Nadal is out, Federer will barely be able to hide all the drool when he sees the field. He'll probably think he's back in 03-07 again
