Klizan, Lopez and Berrer...all in a very short space of time. May not seem like much but given the paucity of lefties and their quality(apart from Nadal himself obviously) it does make you wonder...you truly have to appreciate what it must be like for Djokovic and Federer too to suddenly face a player that good playing left handed after playing a million righties. One only wonders what would have happened if he were right handed or Fedovic were lefties...

If there was a lefty of the caliber of Nole/Fed, Nadal wouldn't have been as successfull. Verdasco who's a mental midget took him to the absolute limit at AO 09, a little more mental strength would've been enough that day.
Agree.

Uncle Toni made him left handed for a reason.

Yes and that is something I hold against Nadal. In a way Nadal has been "built" (and I am not insinuating anything illegal, I am talking about deliberately making him a left hander and such stuff) and in a way that makes him unnatural than say Federer or even Novak/Murray.

Just found this excellent thread.

More of the tennis intelligentsia here should take the time to analyze why Mr. Nadal has lost to a alarmingly high proportion of certain southpaws recently as compared to his career. It might hint at what he needs to fix in his game right away...

Career vs. Left-handed: #1, 73-11 .869
Last 52 weeks: 5-4 .556

W: [57] Nieminen, Madrid; [51] Klizan, Wimbledon; [64] Bellucci, Rio; [59] Delbonis, Buenos Aires; [47] Young, Indian Wells
L: [56] Klizan, Beijing; [21] Lopez, F., Shanghai; [127] Berrer, Doha; [29] Verdasco, Miami

Respectfully,
masterclass

As someone who plays tennis quite a bit (4.5 NTRP), I've only played 2 lefties ever. They are very difficult for me (and I'm sure everyone) as their ball spins almost sideways. I've never won more than 3 games a set against one. I think they should be banned from tennis.)
