Federer out of Wimbledon now leaves the door open for Nadal to close the gap to 18-20, of course he may lose today, but if he doesn't and goes onto to win the title he'll have narrowed to gap to 2, for the first time ever.

Last year both Federer and Nadal finished with 2 slams a piece. So if we finish with that again this year I think Federer would've taken that if you asked him at the start of the year.

Of course Nadal is rampant right now and he could repeat what Djokovic did and hold all 4 GS at once come AO 2019.

But nevertheless a lot is riding on the USO for Federer, if Nadal wins that....oh dear....

Lmao he will be 37, with 20 grand slams and out of that 5 us opens, literally 0 pressure. Match by match, all there is to it, all there ever was and is for proffesional tennis players.

I don't think he'll be under any pressure at all. He's not the favourite to win it and a gap of even two slams is a lot (and it will still probably be 3 anyway). I"m sure he's accepting of the fact that from here on it's going to be very difficult (although not impossible) for him to win another slam and putting pressure on himself will make it even more likely.

Fed win win the US, beating Isner in the final. He will then win AO '19, beating Rafa (who played for six hours to beat Novak in the semi), thus making him the leader in Open era in three of the four GS. Novak wil immediately retire, and open a chain of cheese factories that will eventually service all the fast food outfits in USA. He will make more money in a year then his entire tennis career. Rafa meantime, will have to retire after the FO '19, which he will win with his right hand as a tuna bites off his left while fishing. Yeah, reality rules!

No Roger where lucky that the rest of the top 10 are useless that he will still be number 2 in the world after he sat out the entire clay season and lost over 1500 ranking points.

And he will only gain points he he move past the qf at the uso, but it all depends how he does at the uso but he needs almost a tourny win or a final to keep up his ranking with how rarely he plays

He isn't under pressure to do anything.

Only pressure he will have is Wimbledon, or whenever he plays Rafa/Novak, and maybe even JMDP at a slam, since of how legacy impeding it is..
