The season just started and people are calling it already maybe the greatest season ever. He beat old Federer in 5 in Wimbledon and there are people thinking that it was the best display on grass ever. He beat a below average Nadal in RG and some people (and experts) said it's the best clay tennis display we have ever seen. And of course, no mention to all the GOAT talk while the guy has only 7 or 8 GS at 28 y old, and most of them came after peak Federer and Nadal.
I really think he's a top 10 all-time and the best player in the World right now tho.

Yawn. he beat peak Nadal 7 times in a row so stop with the slams won after Nadal was at his peak shit. Nadal is lucky he peaked so late. He lost. You are happy. We get it. But these threads are just childish.

Every player gets overrated while they're in the peak of their powers.

Every player with a sizable tard base is simultaneously overrated and underrated.

Djokovic is a great player that will be remembered in tennis history. It's as simple as that. Who cares what "tier" he is?

more than just overrated. He just used the period of time when his opponents are old Federer, not healthy Nadal , Delpo injured and Murray still on a decline. The first player who found his best form sent the best of Djoker back to Serbia.

So he's not overrated because he peaked so late?

No, he is an all-time great player. As I said the other day and a Djokovic fan called me out, Stan just has a completely different level compared to any other player in 2015 (and he probably had that last year too). When he plays like that, there is nothing anyone can do, regardless of the surface. He quite possibly have the second highest peak level play of all-time after Federer.

There isn't anything anybody can do against attacking tennis like that. When done at this level, offense always beats defense, it's just very hard to do it consistently. There was nothing Djokovic could have done today. The match was not about his abilities or lack thereof. It was always going to be on Stan's racket, like every single match he plays these days.

No he is not. Since 2011 he has played consistently and showed up in late stages of slams like the #1 ranked player is expected to. He didn't disappear with mysterious injuries or whine incessantly about loss of confidence, his game not being at right level etc.

Yes!

One year later and his fans are trying (but failing) to claim that he's the best ever because he won 4 in a row during a dark ages for tennis.

Ridiculously overrated. People claiming that he can pass Federer in Slams show some epic levels of delusion.

According to his Wikipedia page he's

considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

so that's got to be true right:devil:

in all honesty Novak is a great player an icon but he's not in the GOAT debate...yet
