Is he this Generation's Ferrer?

Ferrer hit his peak and consistency when he was in his mid 20s to early 30s. Practically making Slam QFs consistently every time, acting like a gatekeeper for the remaining players only to lose to the top 3. He entered the top 10 regularly as well.

Has Schwartzman become the next Ferrer?

I think Diego used to be a poor-mans Ferrer - consistent but always losing to higher ranked players. In the last two weeks he beat Nadal and Thiem on clay however, so this may be an inflection point. On the other hand people forget how incredibly consistent Ferrer was, he wasn't just top 10, he spent a very long time in the top 5. Diego often loses to random players and I'm not sure this will change.

Ferrer consistence was nearly unmatched for a non big4 player back in the day.. However I think peak vs peak Diego has a higher roof and peak level... except that Ferrer of the WTF2007 which was insane ballstriking.
