I am absolutely certain Medvedev has at least once worried/ thought about the fact that he is just a background character in tennis despite being one of the best in the world just like every other human in his position would.
A background character who just won his first GS and makes $12 million a year. The tribulations of Daniil Medvedev.

Osaka, Djokovic, Serena, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Tsitsipas, Zverev, Theim, Gauff, Raducanu among MANY others are more important characters than him to the public. Tennis is not a popular enough sport for achievements to be an exclusive deciding factor in terms of relevancy and appeal sorry

You mean this kind of meme, right? 🤣

In Toronto, there was hindrance-gate. In Toronto there was camera-gate but in USO he was a good boy. :sneaky:
Raducanu was also emotionless during play but as soon as she wins the match, she breaks into a smile so bright it could blind your eyes. It's probably that...
Not only that but his wavy arms celebration during USO, his spat with Tstisipas in the infamous "BS Russian" conflict, him being nicknamed "coins" (although that was not seen that favorably), "It's gonna be on Tennis TV", and a lot more examples of him being called "Memedev" because of his funny moments.

Medvedevs game is just tough to watch imo. His tecqnique on the forehand is horrible. He is not exactly a great ball striker. He beats you with his speed and flair around the court. A lot like djokovic but uglier.
Raducanu, even if you factor out her looks just has a beautiful game. Her groundstrokes are so smooth and she floats around the court. She rips 2nd serves returns the same way agassi did. She is also knows what to do at the net, unlike a lot of wta players. Her game doesnt have any real weaknesses. If she can handle the pressure of winning she can dominate the wta.
There is just no comparison really.

Because most Russian male tennis players suck. The Russian women certainly haven’t had a problem becoming famous across the entire world. Kournikova and Sharapova are 2 of the top 4 female endorsement earners in the history of women’s tennis.

The victim hood complex from Novak tards, Medvedev tards, and other “slighted” shithole former communist countries is a joke
At least these "shithole former communist countries" didn't have slavery nor did have colonies 🙄

WTA is a different sport which popularity is based on looks.

I mean, Wozniacki had an extremely boring game, yet was a star.

Meanwhile, Davydenko had no sponsor despite being in the top 10 😂
Davydenko was a match fixer. Who is going to sponsor him?

Why would Matteo win a slam? That would take massive absenteeism.
Med can't do a sexy photoshoot, LOL That's asking too much.
He was just two sets away from winning Wimbledon. Even if you take for granted he can't beat Djokovic, There is not guarantee he'd have to get through him to win. Fedal are done pretty much, and the little 3 are very shaky on grass compared to other surfaces, so I have a him as a top contender for next year's Wimbledon.

You, like way too many people on this site, are grouping Rafa and fed together in the "pretty much done" group.
Wrong.
Fed is 40, Rafa 35; Fed i s on his 3rd surgery for the same knee after winning nothing last spring and making early exits everywhere; Rafa is having his first surgery por treatment for a very old problem that flared up again, and Rafa won a Masters and a 500 before the foot got problematic playing DJok RG semi.

So really ....

To say he was two sets away from winning Wimb is pretty meaningless. That's a very long way! And it's forever against Djok, when you're Berr.

Forget about looks. Rad's game is better to watch than Med's. Med's FH is ugly and his celebration after winning the biggest title of his life is one of the cringeist I've ever seen, dont care what his explanations are.
When you combine that with good looks, British, teenage girl, she has the potential to become the most loved female tennis player of all time.

Men's tennis seems to be dying. Raducanu got 7 times more engagement on her Twitter post after winning than Medvedev did and has more Insta followers than Zverev, Theim, Tsitsipas, and Medvedev. Once Federer retires men's tennis is in deep shit and when nadal does it's gonna be a completely dead sport because next-gen just don't interest people, especially medvedev.

Medvedev won the Us open yet no one seems to care?? It was exactly like this when Marin Cillic won in 2014. I rarely see him get crowd support and they would even rather root for Djokovic than him. He was basically just a background player at Wimbledon playing on outside courts despite being world number 2. Sad. Thoughts on this??
Being Russian doesn't help Daniil, as he is not a pretty blond young lady. As he and his family have been living in France for about 10 years, he should have said he is French. Zverev's family is from Russia but he claims to German, which helps his popularity.

French people seduced him into representing France, but he declined because he knew he would be a big chocker once he becomes French.
